LARRY MacPHERSON -- LakeWatch volunteer of the year award recipient
Congratulations to Larry MacPherson who is a recipient of the Alberta Lake Management Society's (ALMS) volunteer of the year awards.  Larry regularly volunteers many many hours every summer using his boat to take ALMS staff around Wizard Lake to complete their water quality testing program, LakeWatch.  Thank you Larry!

On National Volunteer Week, ALMS would like to say thank you to the volunteers who have dedicated thousands of hours to our organization.

In recent years, volunteers have become involved in new ways at ALMS. From pulling plants in search of invasive species, to measuring oxygen levels while braving the cold of winter, our volunteers have never been afraid to get their feet wet. The patience, kindness, and enthusiasm of our volunteers continues to inspire us to create new opportunities for participation.

Behind the scenes, the ALMS Board of Directors volunteer their time, energy, and expertise to support a healthy and sustainable organization. A special thank you to Judy Stewart who volunteered as a director for more than 10 years and contributed greatly in the areas of policy and governance. Judy is moving on to new adventures and her presence on the board will be missed.

Thank you to everyone who has joined in the fun over the years - we are lucky to have you.

Sincerely,

The ALMS Team
